Goals
- The Effective Decision Making (EDM) Course (completed by students with first-time substance violations) will promote more positive choices as it relates to substances and their use by students.
- The implementation of new a new conduct database “Maxient” will increase successful student matriculation through the Citizenship Education process.
Outcomes
- As a result of completing the EDM Course, 90% of students will be able to describe concrete methods for making better decisions as it relates to substance use.
- As a result of completing the EDM Course, 90% of students will be motivated to make better decisions regarding future substance practices.
- As a result of completing the EDM Course, 90% of students will be able to articulate what phase of use they are in and therefore be able to indicate if they may have a substance problem.
- Through the EDM Course, 80% of students will learn and be able to describe a variety of resources on campus that can assist with their future issues regarding substances.
- 85% of students completing the EDM Course will not receive a second conduct violation during the academic year.
- 85% of students completing the EDM Course will report that the learning from the course helped them make better decisions regarding substance use.
- The use of the Maxient database will increase consistency of communication between Residential Education and students involved in Citizenship Education.
- The use of the Maxient database will increase the timeliness of communication between Residential Education and students involved in Citizenship Education.
- 90% of students involved in Citizenship Education will state that they received information regarding their meeting, their sanctions, and their follow-up in a timely manner.
- Because students will be informed more thoroughly and will also be informed in a more efficient manner, they will achieve a higher rate of sanction completion.
- 75% of students receiving sanctions through the Citizenship Education process will complete these sanctions prior to their assigned deadline.
