Incoming Student Move-In Dates & Times
- New Mills Residents will move in on Tuesday, August 15 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM
- New Residents of Founders, Ridges, Governors, and Ponder Halls, as well as the Woods and Village, move in on Wednesday, August 16 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Driving Instructions
When you first arrive on campus please follow signage and those giving directions to the designated unloading station for your Residence Hall:
- Mills Hall: Founders Drive between Highsmith Student Union and Brown Hall. You can access Founders Drive via W.T. Weaver Blvd.
- Founders Hall: Founders Drive in front of Founders Hall.
- West Ridge & South Ridge Halls: parking deck on Field Drive.
- Governors Hall & The Village: University Heights. You can access University Heights via W.T. Weaver Blvd. Once on University Heights, the unloading station will be across the street in front of the Karpen Garden.
- Ponder Hall: Field Drive. You can access Field Drive via W.T. Weaver Blvd. Campus Drive. Once on Field Drive, the unloading station will be the cul-de-sac at the end of Field Drive.
- The Woods: Founders Drive in The Woods parking lot in front of Magnolia Hall.

Check-In
Once you arrive in the designated unloading area for your residence hall, faculty and staff will greet you with additional instructions. All belongings will be moved to staging pallets while you complete Check-In at the main lobby of your residence Hall. Residents of the Woods will check in between Willow Hall and Beech Hall.
New students will receive their new RockyCard during Check-In if you have followed the instructions to submit your photo. If you do not upload a picture for your RockyCard prior to arriving on campus, you will not be able to move in or get your room key until you go to the RockyCard Office (located in Governors Hall) to have your RockyCard made. Please review the instructions for uploading your RockyCard photo here if you have not already done so.
Unloading and Parking Instructions
While you check in, someone should stay with your vehicle at all times. Once the vehicle is unloaded, it should be moved to a designated parking lot for each Residence Hall listed below. The Move-In Team will then assist with loading and carrying all items to the student room. This process usually only takes a matter of minutes.
- Mills Hall: parking lot P22, P25 or P26
- Founders Hall: parking lot P29, P30 or P31
- West Ridge & South Ridge Halls: parking lot P01 or P02
- Governors Hall & The Village: parking lot P09, P11 or P12
- Ponder Hall: parking lot P01 or P02
- The Woods: parking lot P29, P30, or P31

We will have staff available to assist with arranging furniture, raising/lowering beds, installing bed rails, etc. Once you arrive at your room, if you need assistance you will email resmaint@unca.edu and our teams will respond quickly. Please do not request assistance before you arrive at your room as we will not be able to process specific requests until you are on campus.
