The RLC application process for the 2022-2023 academic year has closed, as we prepare for Room Selection.
A RLC is a group of students living on the same floor in a residence hall that share a common theme; such as career goals/ personal interests and/or academic major. This unique housing opportunity creates an environment that will help students succeed academically and build strong relationships outside of the classroom. The majority of the RLCs are linked to an academic course or major so students can continue their academic learning into the residence halls. Therefore students in some RLCs must register for the required course/major.
The ELC is open to Engineering majors, and offers first-year and upperclassman participants extra-curricular opportunities to develop collaborative and technical skills.
The Transfer Learning Community (TLC) is composed of transfer students who are in their first year of studies at UNC Asheville.
The Cloud is open to Atmospheric Science and Computer Science majors, and offers first-year and upperclassman participants extra-curricular opportunities to develop collaborative and technical skills.
The Sankofa RLC is a residential community for first-year and upperclassmen students of color and others interested in racial justice, cross-cultural collaboration, and intercultural exchange.
