UNC Asheville offers six residence halls with a variety of floor plans and accomodations. Governors Hall is home to the Office of Residential Education and Housing and Student Life Operations.
Residence Hall Councils are created within each residential living area. They participate in providing programs for residents as well as giving guidance to Housing and Student Life Operations and Residential Education regarding needs in each particular residence hall and in living areas across campus. Many initiatives have recently been created by the various Hall Councils. These include:
- New lounge chairs for South Ridge
- Having laundry as all-inclusive for all students
- Promoting sustainability initiatives
- Providing input for furniture in the renovated Governors Village
- Guiding us in the arrangement for lounge spaces in the New Residence Hall
Hall Councils meet every week and members are also encouraged to attend the Resident Student Association meetings each week on Tuesday at 8pm in Highsmith University Union room 104.
The residence halls exist to provide, you, the resident, the best living experience possible. Because of that, your voice is important and we consider your opinions seriously. If you would like to be a part of positive changes and additions to the residence halls, participating in Hall Councils could be for you.
